He went heart bypass surgery in 2010. He was a famous comedian of 1970s cinema and a huge box office draw at his peak with his reputation as a hard-drinking playboy. He wasn’t just a movie icon, but he was a passionate, sensitive, and generous person.

The career of Reynolds spanned 6 decades. He also earned Golden Globe, Oscar nomination, and a number of major awards for his sketch of porn director Jack Horner in the film Boogie Nights in 1997. He was considered the gold of box office in the 1970s and 1980s with some hits including Starting Over, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, and Smokey and the Bandit. These films got popularity at the box office.
