Selena Gomez has already deleted Instagram application from her phone because she thinks that this application hurts her mental health. Even she thinks that social media is dangerous and unhealthy for a young generation like her. Instagram’s boss Adam Mosseri, responded to that action. Let’s find out what he said.

Last week, Selena Gomez explained on Live with Kelly and Ryan, why she thinks that Instagram application is not healthy for her.

. “I used to a lot [go online on Instagram and engage with my followers], but I think it’s just become really unhealthy for young people, including myself, to spend a lot of time fixating on all these comments and letting this stuff in, and it was affecting me,” she said. “It would make me depressed. It would make me feel not good about myself, and look at my body differently and all kinds of stuff so I don’t have it on my phone. I have it on someone else’s phone, and when I feel like I want to share something with my fans or mess around with it, I do it then.”

Mosseri said that he felt disappointed when he heard this statement from the third most followed person of Instagram i.e., Selena Gomez.

“I wouldn’t extend Selena Gomez’s experience on the platform to what your experience or my experience might be like,” Mosseri said. “She has over 100 million followers; it’s a whole other world.”

Mosseri added that “we don’t want people to get depressed using the platform, but we can’t stop people from saying mean or nasty things, so it’s a balance.”

In regards to Gomez specifically, “we need to make sure that creators like her are getting value out of the platform, that they don’t get depressed by the platform,” Mosseri said. “But the tools that we need to develop for a 15-year-old boy or 14-year-old girl are very different.”

Mosseri said that he is open to feedback from Gomez on how Instagram can improve. He “would love to hear” from her. “We like the criticism, we like to have the conversation,” he said.

No doubt, Mosseri responded to her statement thoughtfully. Now we will have to see whether Selena gave him feedback and share some suggestion with which he can bring some improvements to this platform.
