Cancer has become an epidemic disease globally, and in the United States, very few cancer survivors have been left. Almost 17 million people have diagnosed with some cancer in recent previous years.

As you know, this fatal disease requires a heavy price for the treatment and resulted in a financial crisis for the survivors.

The Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Journal of the US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention highlight the expenses of cancer patients in the United States.

According to this report, one-fourth have severed problems in paying their medical bills. Moreover, one-third of the people are worried about hospital expenses.

The report titled Annual Out-of-Pocket Expenditures and Financial Hardships Among Cancer Survivors among 18–64 Years of age. It revealed, cancer survivors almost spend $1000 out of pocket expenses annually, while other disease affected patients expenses are $622.

In the United States, more than 25 % of people face financial problems for the treatment of cancer. Moreover, 34 % are struggling with psychological difficulties because they worried about medico bills.

Senior health economist and author of the report, Donatus Ekwueme said, ” the cancer survivors population has increased, and most of them worried about paying bills for medical care, even due this thong forced them for bankruptcy.

Well, this report has limitations because based on self-supported details of the survivors. Furtherly, this report didn’t reveal any information related to stage and type of treatment for cancer.
