Christion Abercrombie Tennessee State linebacker is admitted in Nashville hospital. He is in serious condition because of Sunday injury after crumpling on the sideline during a game. He was playing against Vanderbilt and experiencing a head injury emergency surgery, officials told.
On Twitter, Tennessee State University gave a statement that Abercrombie, 20, is “under observance”. He was taken to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Rod Reed, Tigers head coach said that he was uncertain about the Tennessean. In the first half, Abercrombie was injured. About the 20-year-old, the newspaper reported that he sustained a head injury.
“It was right before the half,” Reed told the paper. “He came to the sideline and just kind of collapsed there.”
Then, the aged 20 years was given oxygen earlier being taken away on a stretcher. Through the second quarter end, Abercrombie played. However, he did not come back to the game after halftime, as per FOX17.
In 2016, Abercrombie completed his graduation from high school. He belongs from Atlanta and played for Illinois, last year. (parentishealth.com) He made 11 tackles in 11 games, as per TSU Tigers football roster.
In Saturday’s game, Abercrombie came as the Tigers’ second-leading tackler. He made accreditation of five tackles, and before injury also a quarterback hurry. To Vanderbilt, the Tigers went on to lose 31-27.
After the end of the game, from both teams, players gathered at midfield to join Vanderbilt Coach Derek Mason and Reed prayed for Abercrombie speedy recovery.
“Football’s what we do, not who we are,” Mason said. “I know what it is to be a coach. I know what it is to have a player who’s injured. At the end of the day, when serious injuries happen, football becomes secondary.”

Vanderbilt Football posted, “Our thoughts are with the Abercrombie family, their friends and the entire Tennessee State community during this difficult time”.
“A kid who plays for Tenn State got a bad head injury in the Vanderbilt game today, he is undergoing brain surgery, I’ve been praying for his healing, would love to have you join me,” Charlie Daniels, legendary American singer, guitarist, songwriter, and fiddler said on Twitter.
