The second season of Mixed Match Challenge premieres will be started on September 18th at 10 PM EST and some biggest superstars of WWE are returning back on Facebook Watch. A round-robin format replaces the single-elimination tournament from the first season. A pre-show will be presented before each 30-minute episode. The round-robin format took place at the beginning of this year.
There will be tag teams of pairs including one male and one female wrestler. The winners of the previous season, The Miz and Asuka are teaming up again to maintain their title. There are other stars contesting in Mixed Match Challenge including the WWE Champion AJ Styles, Finn Bálor, Alexa Bliss, Braun Strowman, Sasha Banks, and SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.
2 matches will be played in each episode and the final of the tournament will take place at a pay-per-view event in the month of December 2018. Wrestling fans from all around the world will be able to watch the live action after expanding the availability of Facebook Watch. The wrestling addicted communities in Mexico, Australia, Spain, France, Brazil, Germany, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand will now be able to watch the live streams.
A press release issued by the WWE that the first season of Mixed Match Challenge has generated at least 35 million views in just the United States. The second season will present more cooperative elements. It would include fan votes and it might offer a chance to interact with wrestlers. The storylines of Mixed Match Challenge will play out across the empire of Facebook pages of WWE.
