A hemophilic person contracted with HIV when he was a teenager. He said, ” doctors found out the infection and kept a secret when he was young.”

Martin told the Infected blood inquiry that he saw a hospital letter 1985 that saying “every effort” would be done not to say to him.

Moreover, he said, he had been tested for HIV in 1983 without his knowledge. He was not known that he had been treated for a year at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

This inquiry set in leads and looked at Why 4800 hemophilic people infected with hepatitis C or HIV in the 1970s and 1980s.

The 1985 letter hospital said, ” we noted HTLV3 antibody positive, but not aware of this and do not wish this to be disclosed to him.

ASked from him, what was his feeling when he saw the letter after two decades. Mr beard told the inquiry, ” Stunned, absolutely stunned.”

He told he found out his HIV infection in 1986 when his care transferred to North Staffordshire. He said I was stunned when all doctor says, ” Hello, I see You’re HIV positive.”

Mr beard said I battled away with it because I didn’t really understand the full implications of it.

His father believes he contracted with Hepatitis C through a blood transfusion when he was only five. His father worried about cuddling his children.

Darren Rawson from Hull told the inquiry “the biggest fear was passing the infection even treatments have cleared him.”

Mr. Rawson further said, if I get a bleed, I still think I’ve got it, to be honest.
