After enjoying the first season of Mindhunter, a slow pace detective drama, fans have started talking about season 2. The story of the second season will be revolved around Atlanta Child murders of 1979-8. Now time to know what will happen in the upcoming season and when it will be released on Netflix.
Mindhunter started in 2017 where David Fincher came back on TV. This detective drama is quite different from other detective tv series you watch in terms of its format and storyline. This police detective show is all about the inception of the FBI’s criminal profiling programme in the 1970s.
Two agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench are part of FBI’s behavioral scientists unit. They try to understand the pattern of criminal behavior by interviewing serial killers. They try to know what they do and why they do it and how exactly. This understanding helps them solve other cases.

At this point, Netflix didn’t provide any official release date. However, what we know is that you would be able to watch Mindhunter Season 2 in the first half of 2019.
What will happen in the upcoming season?
Netflix keeps everything secret when it comes to the new season. However, there are some tidbits which we have got, and we would like to share it with you.
According to an interview of David Fincher with Billboard in 2017, Season 2 will cover a notorious series of a child murder case in Atlanta from 1979-81. This case involved the brutal murder of 28 children, teen, and adults – all of them were African American. They got killed in Georgia Capital. Wayne Williams was convicted for two of those killings.
According to recent reports, Damon Herriman from Once upon a Time in Hollywood is becoming a part of new cast as Charles Manson.
We hope that the new season will catch up from the time where last season was concluded. In the first season, Ford’s method of interrogation was criticized by his fellows Wendy and Bill. Even his boss wants him to be a little careful around the subject. In the last scene, he hugged serial killer Ed Kemper who later got a panic attack in the hall. Things have gone a bit complicated in the show. So, we want to know what is coming next.
In Season 2, we will see that Ford will take some new analytical approach around his subject.
At the end of season 1, Ford’s methods were being called into question by Wendy, Bill, and their boss, as he became increasingly unguarded around their subjects. In a brilliant scene in the finale, he is embraced in a bear hug by serial killer Ed Kemper (Cameron Britton), and, once free, has a panic attack in the hall, having realized how dangerous the situation had become.
Mindhunter Season 2 Cast
Old cast members will surely return for season 2 such as Groff, McCallany, and Torv. However, we are not sure whether Britton will come back as Kemper or not. A new face is Charles Manson who is an Australian actor Damon Harriman; he is already playing a role in Once upon a Time in the West.
Mindhunter Season 2 is coming to Netflix in 2019.
