Doctor Who Series 12 Release date

You have to wait for almost seven more months to see new episodes of Doctor Who. Show creator made it clear that there will be no new episode in 2019. Doctor and her gang will return in early 2020 as confirmed by BBC director general.

In the New year eve, we saw one particular episode “Resolution” where we watched a guest appearance from GCHQ. However, now you won’t get any Christmas episode of Doctor Who in 2019.

Jodie is very excited to return as the Time Lord for upcoming Series, and she said “I really can’t wait to step back in and get to work again. It’s such an incredible role. It’s been an extraordinary journey so far, and I’m not quite ready to hand it over yet.”

Why The team is going to Gloucester Cathedral

BBC film crew is going to Gloucestershire for filming the scenes for the Series on 22 May and 23 May. The team is returning to Cathedral after 11 years. David Tennant filmed the Christmas 2008 episode of the show in the same grounds.

The Series was normally broadcasted on Saturday night, but then it switched to Sunday night slot. This switch causes a decrease in its audience from 11 million viewers to 6.42 million viewers.It was in the top 10 programmes of 2018.

Saturday or Sunday? Which day show will go on-air?

Traditionally, this show is broadcasted on Saturday night, but last year it switched to Sunday. However, this switch became the main reason for its rating decline last year. This year, BBC director general decided to telecast Doctor Who Series 12 on Saturday as per its old tradition.

An insider revealed: “There is a feeling family are freer to watch on Saturdays than Sundays when kids have homework to finish.

“While the show rated well overall, there were concerns over the decline in audience.

“Returning to Saturdays is being discussed as a likely option.”
