As a general fact, red wine is not meant for everybody. Some wines are right for you, but not for others. Some wines are right for them, but not for you. There are two major types of them. These are the young wine and old wine. The young wine is darker and consists of more tannin while the old wine consists of less tannin and appears to be lighter.

The real color of the wines is actually rose or blush regardless of the name. You can serve this wine with poultry and fish dishes.

Fortified Wine

Some winemakers include fortifying of wines.  Is it a form of dessert wine which can be found at any party. Dry Sherry is a famous example of Fortified wine. The fortification process is added to preserve the wine. Winery fortified wines by adding distilled spirit, giving the wine its natural flavors.

Fortified wine has an average level of alcohol ranging from 17 to 20 percent. Hence, it is best served as a drink before or after dinner. Mostly, fortified wines have no additional flavoring agents. Fortified can also be useful in mixing up cocktails.
